I absolutely love those summer days that bring you to the waters' edge.  It's such a beautiful spot to be when the weather is nice.  Sitting around, watching the boats drive in and out of the marina, watching people fish off the dock and enjoying a delicious beverage (or two) during all of this!  I will forever be drawn to the waterfront!

I am forever looking for a pair of great fitting white jeans (also available in denim blue), I can't tell you how much I love (and how comfy) this pair from Talbots is!  One thing that I truly love the most is how well they fit at the waist and that they come in petite length, which means no tailoring for the perfect length!  Not only does this blue & white striped top feature beautiful embroidery, but those flounced sleeves are everything!  A hit of pink is always necessary, am I right?!

Weekend Recap

I always feel kind of bad/guilty when I post two weekend recap posts back to back!  I'm sorry for the radio silence, but it just seems to be the way during the summer months!

This past week we celebrated the first of three July birthdays!  The end of July is a busy one, which is both absolutely awesome and slightly crazy!  We finish off baseball season for the youngest, kick off the start of a new soccer session and of course, celebrate three birthdays!

I don't know about you, but I always feel slightly sad mid July, like time is passing way too quickly! Then I remind myself that every year I feel that way and that come September, we are all full of summer fun and ready to get back to a regular schedule.

In other news, we love to cook shish kebabs during the summer months.  I recently gave this recipe a try and everyone really enjoyed it, so I wanted to share.

I no joke wore this outfit three out of four days this week!  No joke and no shame, it's comfy and perfect for those hot days.  The top is currently 40% off and the shorts I picked up from the Gap Factory store for under $15!  You can't shop the Gap Factory website if you live in Canada, but for reference, here's the link.

Weekend Recap!

We started off our weekend in a new-to-us town for one of the kids' soccer tournaments.  After the games were done, we decided to take a trip down to the lake to check it out.  Gosh was it ever beautiful!  The boardwalk took us on a nice walk along the waters' edge and we took in the lovely scene and gawked at some gorgeous homes!



A few people asked about this black sweater that I was wearing in one of my insta stories.  Incase you're wondering too, I picked it up the one of the Nike Outlets recently and it's been one of my favourites for those cool summer nights.  You can find a similar style here.

Gosh I love summer and even more so, I love those days/evenings/nights when there's no agenda and no one has anywhere to be.  Our entire family sat on the deck until 11:30pm the other night, it was perfect and I hope that we have more summer nights just like it!

I also love the lazy mornings when the kids sleep in, the windows let in the cool morning summer breeze and the smell of freshly brewed coffee fills the house.  Ahhh, summer!

Weekend Reads & Sales

As we head into the weekend, we hope to spend a few hours at our favourite beach.  Week one of summer vacation is done, but somehow it feels as though we've been on summer holidays for weeks already!

We have some fun things planned for this summer, including some wonderful celebrations.  I love a good reason to get dressed up and look forward to sporting a gorgeous dress that I bought during Banana Replubic's 50% sale, next week!  It's bright white, which I don't typically wear, but the dress had me weak at the knees the moment I saw it!  It sold out rather quickly, but you can find it in a few sizes here.

Down By The Bay

I used to shy away from wearing dresses, but lately I just can't seem to shake the urge to reach for a great summer dress and to pair it with flip flops or Birkenstocks.  I bought this one last year from Gap, but I'm positive I've only worn it once before.  It was the perfect dress to wear down to the pier where we went to watch the boats and take in the beautiful surroundings.  Though this one is no longer available, I have linked to some other favourites below!  I especially love this one!

Summer is officially here and I've already lost track of which day of the week it is!  It's been a rather busy week with basketball camp, tying up some bits of work before taking holidays and prepping for BlogPodium 2017 (which I am SO looking forward to!).

Tonight we don't have any baseball, so we'll be enjoying a bbq and hanging out on the deck, I've been longing for a great evening on the deck and today's weather is perfect for that!
