Walking In A Winter Wonderland

Wednesday, December 20, 2017

You guys!  We are less than a week away from Christmas and I'm loving the build up to my favourite day of the year!  I absolutely love the week before Christmas.  Though the stores are crazy and the streets are busy, it's the excitement and the anticipation that I love.

We took some time to check out the holiday decor downtown and it was ever so lovely.  The snow was falling and it was absolutely beautiful!  I have nothing but great things to say about this stand collar coat from Talbots (they are currently having a 40% off sale!), I've gotten so much use out of it!  You can't tell, but I'm also wearing the comfiest socks, (seen here).  I've linked to my outfit at the bottom of the post (the links for the purse, scarf and chambray top are similar items as the ones I'm wearing have sold out).

I can hardly believe that this will be one of my last posts of 2017!  I will take a little break to enjoy the holidays, and look forward to bringing you a boat load of projects in the New Year (including one that I've been dying to tackle for about a year now!).

How is your holiday prep going?

Christmas Home Tour

Friday, December 8, 2017

I know I said the same thing earlier this week, but honestly, I can hardly believe that it's already time for this year's Christmas Home Tour!  This may very well have been the fastest year of my life!  It feels like it was only yesterday that we were hosting Christmas 2016!

A very big thank you to Shannon and Christina for organizing this hop!

I always look forward to participating in the Canadian Bloggers Christmas Home Tour.  It's a special time of year and such a treat to take a look at how everyone is decorating for the holidays and of course, to be inspired by their decor!  I find that I always learn something new, or get a new idea after reading the posts.

Without further ado, here is how I've decorated our home this year.  Once again, you'll find touches of pink throughout, I just can't resist adding in my favourite colour.  This year I paid a little more attention to the exterior of our house by adding a garland over the door and filling it in with some fresh greens.

When I first started decorating the house, I thought I'd go without ribbon on the staircase garland.  After a week or so, I decided to add some white ribbon and to fill in the fake garland with fresh greens.  I love the combination of fake and fresh greens.  The fresh greens will eventually dry out, but they smell amazing and look beautiful!  It's a good balance.

You'll find most of the touches of pink in our living room, it's also the room where you'll find our main tree.

We spend a lot of time in the family room which is open to the kitchen.  Last year we decided to get a smaller tree for the family room, since you can't see the one in the living room when we're sitting in here watching our favourite holiday shows.

And there you have it!  Our home decorated for Christmas 2017!

Now be sure to take a peek at the other bloggers beautifully decorated holiday homes, linked blow!

Our Holiday Cards

Wednesday, December 6, 2017

Every time I get set to write a holiday related post, I feel like I might be mistaken that it's already that time of the year!  Do you write and send Christmas cards?  I have to be honest, it's been a few years since I sat down at the dining room table to write a bunch of cards, but I vowed that this year I would get back into the habit of sending cards out.  I honestly love receiving cards!  I've been feeling a little bit of guilt whenever a holiday card would arrive in the mail, knowing that I hadn't been organized enough to get our very own cards out to family and friends.

Enter the lovely Toronto based stationery company Printed Matter.  When they reached out about collaborating this holiday season, I took a look at their site and immediately knew that I was on board.  I didn't have enough time to schedule a family photo, so I decided to skip holiday photo cards and to go with pre-made holiday greeting cards instead.  I fell in love with the Mistletoe design and quickly placed my order!

I love that they offer the option of ordering a stamp for the return address, anything to make life easier!  But honestly, this really and truly is such a great time saver and it adds a beautiful touch to the envelopes, don't you think?

The quality of the paper is amazing and the size of the cards make them perfect for placing on top of a gift or in the mail, on their own.  If you've been searching for the perfect holiday cards, be sure to check out the Printed Matter website!

Cheers,

Printed Matter was kind enough to provide me with cards and a stamp, however all opinions are my own
